We can’t wait to welcome five to eight-year-olds to our All Stars cricket programme starting in May!
This national programme, designed to introduce cricket to children, teaches basic skills in a fun setting and pre-registration is open now to give parents priority access to booking!
The BSCC All Stars is always hugely popular so we encourage parents to sign up for early access to booking https://www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars/register-interest
The All Stars programme will run at The Holt, the new home for Budleigh Cricket, for eight weeks (no session in half term) starting from Friday May 9 from 5pm to 6pm. The club is hugely grateful to our new All Stars co-ordinator Spencer House who will be leading these sessions, but will need support from any parents able to help out.
The All Stars course costs £50 which includes some fantastic ECB issue cricket kit especially for little-ones as well as the eight coaching sessions. As this is a nationally run programme, BSCC receives only a small proportion of this cost and the course here, and at other clubs, is therefore run entirely by volunteer coaches.
For those who may struggle to cover the course fee we have a bursary scheme offering financial support – please visit www.budleighcc.co.uk and click on the M5
Spencer, who will complete an ECB-run All Stars training session, said: “All Stars Cricket offers a great opportunity for the youngest children to have some fun and get a taste of cricket, and for their families to enjoy the surroundings of the club and the hospitality on offer. These children and these families are the future of the club.”
Many of our All Stars progress through the youth teams and then eventually into the senior teams. This programme is dependent on parent-helpers – if you are able to assist with the sessions, even if just for a couple of weeks, please contact allstars@budleighcc.co.uk
