Twinkle the All Stars mascot gave the club’s tiniest cricketers a shining send off after their final session last week!
The national ECB/run programme, designed to introduce cricket to children, teaches basic skills in a fun setting and ran every Friday from 5pm at The Holt.
This year we had a fantastic 69 All Stars registered here at Budleigh! And thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of BSCC’s All Stars co ordinator Spencer House, Budleigh’s 2025 group got an extra two sessions tacked on to the end of the 8 week national programme!
On Friday evening the All Stars received their medals in the sunshine from BSCC 1st XI captain Ed Doble.
Spencer said: “This season of All Stars has got better and better as we’ve gone on. Thanks to my team of Activators: Ed, Phil, George and of course Jac. As an all-new team of Activators, we had to learn quickly but we are very happy with how it has gone. The weather has been amazing and it’s been lovely to see the kids having fun and making friends whilst also learning and improving their cricket skills. Giving out the medals and seeing the kids meet Twinkle were particularly special moments. We’ve enjoyed meeting the parents and welcoming some of them into the club for the first time. Thanks to all the parents who helped out during a sessions and for any kind words of encouragement, it means a lot. We will be back again next year and we hope to see you all again then!”
The Club would like to say a huge thank you to Spencer and his team of activators for their commitment and enthusiasm towards making 2025 a wonderful All Stars season
