Our 2025 Junior cricket season started on Friday with (alongside plenty of cricket obviously!) fun, friendship and several firsts –
• Our first junior training session with our fabulous new enclosed nets in use!
• The first training session for our new u15 girls softball side
• The first session with our wonderful, accessible patio in use
• The first use of our new giant BSCC branded gazebo housing the BBQ
• The first session for our new u10 softball/hardball age group
All of these milestones (and there are probably more!) mark how far we have come in the last 12 months and how much we have to offer to ensure our young cricketers and their families have the most welcoming and enjoyable introduction to cricket.
BSCC Junior lead coach Tom Picton said: “We had a great start to 2025 Friday training. A new cohort of U10s joined the returning players from last season to kick off Junior training with a bang ahead of a very busy schedule of matches for all age groups.’
Alice Sowman, manager of the new U15 Girls softball side, said “We had a good turnout for our first session; we have a group of 14 girls ranging from 12 - 14 signed up. Seeing them out enjoying playing cricket on Friday night, and then having fun afterwards was fantastic. Some have never played before and some have come back after a break. New players are always welcome to come join us and please feel free get in touch with any questions.” Anyone interested in signing up to the new girls’ sessions should contact Alice on 07776 030424.
Friday night training takes place from 6pm, new juniors are always welcome regardless of experience - contact secretary@budleighcc.co.uk for info. Financial support is available towards the cost of kit and membership for anyone experiencing financial hardship, we also have a second hand kit shop.
