There were mixed fortunes on the field for the Otters on Saturday with a win (2nds at home vs Ottery ) a draw (3rds at home vs Exmouth) and a close defeat (1sts away at Clyst St George). After a tense finish against Exmouth , BSCCs 3rd’s ‘squadron leader’ James England commented “The boys stuck it out well in the field for the final 20 overs of the fielding innings in the face of a ferocious bobby Dawson enslaught, and with the bat I think we applied ourselves well leading to a nice tight finish”.
A second consecutive win for the 2nds left captain Harvey Shipton upbeat “A fantastic team performance all around. We got off to a great start with the bat and carried form right though the innings. Then finished it off with a sharp bowling attack”. 1st team skipper Ed Doble reflected on his side’s performance “A disappointing result, but proud of the team to fight till the end and come so close to getting a result.”
