Sunday's match part of UK bid for equality in sport

Devon cricket has chosen the final home game for the Women’s county side, taking place here at BSCC on Sunday, as a dedicated ‘Her Game Too’ fixture – the national campaign for equality in sport.
All girls' teams in Devon and their coaches have been invited to join in the day, as well as the public. Devon Cricket partnered with the national Her Game Too campaign in 2024 and the logo has been proudly displayed on the Devon Women’s shirt since then.
As reported last week, the match, the last Devon Women’s fixture of 2025 to take place at The Holt ,will see our county side come up against Hertfordshire at 10.30am and will be a showcase and a celebration of women’s cricket –everyone’s invited!
With a BBQ, a chance to meet the players and coaches and a guard of honour for the teams, Sunday, August 10, will be an inspirational day for women and girls across the county who are involved in cricket.
A dedicated ‘Her Game Too’ matchday is a specific game where a club/ foundation partners with the campaign to promote its message.
With both bars open, food available, a fantastic atmosphere and of course top level cricket, it is a day not to be missed and your last chance this year to cheer on our county side!
Ann-Marie Presswell, Women and Girl’s development officer for Devon Cricket, said: “We are so looking forward to the Women and Girl's event planned around the last Devon Women's game at Budleigh Salterton. It will be a fantastic chance for young girls and women to be inspired by the team and watch some high-quality cricket. We have tied it into an opportunity for coaches of girl's teams to come and watch the coaching team in action and watch coaching at the highest level. With music, a BBQ, activities, autograph sheets and great cricket - what more could you ask for!"
Much of the day has been masterminded by BSCC’s Carolyn Roper who said: “It has been an honour to host all the Devon Women’s home matches this season, and their final match on August 10th will be a fantastic showcase for women and girls cricket in the county. Working closely with Devon cricket it will be a fun and interactive day for all, so please come along and support our women. Everyone is welcome!”
