Round-up of some of our latest junior fixtures

It was a Fathers’ Day victory for our U11s (pictured) who took on Sandford CC away on June 16 – an awesome team performance in which everyone made a really positive contribution and made the club proud. A strong captain’s performance by Ruben, with some fantastic wickets, backed up by a great knock with a plethora of boundaries. Hugo and Isaac also kept it really tight and got a couple of wickets each, to keep their score low, whilst Freddie and Reece did a good job keeping our score turning over with the bat. Notable mentions also to Ben, who kept wicket brilliantly, and took a great top edge catch, whilst Jack's bowling keeps improving, with another deserved wicket. A final score of 84 runs for BSCC with 43 for Sandford.
On the same day BSCC u15 beat Barton u15 by 88 runs; BSCC scored 136 all out off 20 overs and I reply Barton were all out for 48 off 18.5 overs. Great all round performance where we used the whole batting lineup and achieved our season high score. Tight fielding and “on the spot” bowling saw their top order off in short order - we took the catches well and kept it super tight to the end. Next u15 game vs Heathcoat on 1st of July (away).
On June 10 BSCC U14vs beat Whimple U14 by 6 wickets. Whimple 91 for 6 off 20 overs. Budleigh 93 for 4 off 14.3 overs. Nice result for a BSCC team featuring a number of u13s. Notable performances with the ball was Henry “Hoover” Russell with 3 wickets - Alex, Daniel and Ben sharing the rest. With the bat Alfie and Josh hit quick fire 17s to get the bulk of the runs. Coach’s verdict: “We will face tougher tests but a good game all round! Well done team!!”
