Appeal for volunteers

Your club needs you! With our AGM approaching we are keen to have volunteers for various roles and to help BSCC continue to thrive!
We have committee and non-committee posts to fill as the club grows and as a few of our volunteers are stepping down – it’s time for new energy and we’d love more members and players to get involved.
We are a volunteer powered club and we are extremely grateful to all those whose hard work and dedication keep the club running and make it such a valuable asset to our players, members, and the community - could you join them?

We are looking to fill the following committee roles:
Chairman - this involves being responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and day to day management of the club. The club is registered as a CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) and the chairman’s responsibilities include, in conjunction with club directors, ensuring the club remains compliant with CASC rules, specifically focusing on promoting community participation and maintaining amateur status as well as advancing cricket opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
Secretary– Responsible for the administration of the club, including handling all correspondence and maintaining records. Organises regular committee meetings, prepares agendas and ensures actions are followed up. Acts as the main point of contact for the Devon Cricket League, other clubs, organisations and relevant governing bodies when required.
Club Communications officer – responsible for weekly newsletter, website content, direct communications with members and social media updates on club-wide matters (ie membership, fundraising, sponsorship, club projects, community involvement) This role does NOT involve coverage of cricket matches etc (ie no direct understanding of cricket required!).
The election of officers will take place at our AGM towards the end of March, date TBC. If you are interested in taking on any of these roles please contact news@budleighcc.co.uk

Other volunteer opportunities (non-committee roles)
We would love help in the following areas...
Club maintenance – there are always odd-jobs to be done around the grounds, are you practical, good at DIY? We would be glad of as much or as little time you were able to offer. Could you be on a list of handy volunteers that we might be able to call on when needed?
Help with gardening – are you green fingered? Could you help look after the beautiful bed in front of the clubhouse? Perhaps you have like-minded friends and could take it on as a group project?
Women’s coaching – We’re looking for a player/ former player to help coach our thriving women’s section!
Health and Safety – We need a volunteer to support the club with health and safety matters and help ensure a safe environment for all players and visitors (this role concerns the cricket side of operations not Holt Bar and Terrace).
Bar volunteers – do you have bar experience and can you operate a till system? If so would you consider helping out during the occasional shift in Andy’s Bar during a cricket training session/ match?
Help with one-off projects – We always have short term projects on the go – if you have any experience in project management your input would be very valuable!
If you are able to help us with any of the above non-committee roles please contact Carolyn.roper@outlook.com
