With the effects of climate change becoming increasingly evident, we want to make sure BSCC is protected and prepared for the future.
With more than 150 games played at the club each year, maintaining high-quality playing surfaces is vital. If we are to continue providing excellent facilities for our league, women’s, youth, disability and walking cricket teams, we need to ensure the club has a reliable and sustainable water Club Chairman James England said: “Given how extended this warm period has been and the potential for more summers like this, it’s key we future-proof the club so we can continue to improve the cricketing experience for all. The club would be really grateful if anyone has any expertise that they would be willing to lend us.”
That’s why we’re looking into installing a borehole at BSCC – and we need your help!
There is funding available to support projects like this, but we need to act quickly. We’re looking for a small team of volunteers who can help us coordinate the project, investigate the options and, most importantly, help us secure the funding available.
A borehole could be a real game changer for BSCC, helping us to improve and protect our playing surfaces while supporting the hundreds of players and teams who use the club throughout the year – as well as the countless thousands of visitors who come to BSCC every season.
If you have experience or knowledge of boreholes, water management, funding applications or project management, or simply have some time you could spare to help with this exciting project, we’d love to hear from you.
