As previously reported, Alex is one of only 14 county players selected to represent Devon on an U15 cricket tour to South Africa in October - but this one-off cricketing opportunity rests on him raising a whopping £3,375.
As well as taking on odd jobs like lawn-mowing to raise cash, Alex is organising a Bingo night at The Holt on Friday, April 4 to help reach his target.
The South Africa trip will provide Alex with a unique opportunity to hone his cricket skills and to develop as a player. He said: “From dealing with different climate and weather conditions to learning how to master the pitch types, I will learn new skills in an environment that I can bring back and share with my team mates back in BSCC.”
“For me this is an amazing opportunity to represent Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club and Devon and is something I’ve been working towards for several years,” he added.
