First class facility complete !

WORK on our 3-lane practice nets is complete cementing Budleigh’s status as a premier location for access to cricket in the South West!
The £70k+ three-lane enclosed practice facility has been made possible thanks to the generosity of grant-giving bodies and the hard work of our members and the community in raising funds.
The nets now need a ‘bedding in period’ and will be ready for use around November 20, when slots will be booked via an online booking system.
The facility has been designed in conjunction with provider Exclusive Leisure to high specifications for use for disability cricket as well as for regular training for our junior, senior and women’s sides.
Chairman Joel Murphy said: “We are delighted to finally have our long awaited state of the art cricket nets completed. They will enhance our younger and older players ability to develop their cricket whilst providing a unique, safe and secure area for disability cricketers to pursue their dreams.
“We are very grateful to Devon Cricket Foundation and ECB for their immense help towards funding and of course huge thanks to our hard working volunteers for co ordinating and facilitating the project.”
From sitting in a bath of beans, abseiling down tors and washing cars at The Holt, the fundraising effort by players and members of all ages has been colossal.
A large portion of the funding has been raised thanks to the hard work of BSCC fundraising manager Carolyn Roper who has obtained several donations from grant giving bodies.
