Senior players clean up with fundraising success

AROUND 100 cars left The Holt gleaming on Saturday morning thanks to the hard work of a car wash crew made up of senior and junior players.
The first ever car wash at The Holt raised £982 towards the training nets appeal – a fantastic total and a testament to the hard work of all involved.
Despite the downpours, a team of volunteers polished and hosed down a steady queue of cars and vans from 9am until noon with extra money raised through the sale of coffees and cakes in the clubhouse.
A number of the visitors also signed up as social members, so as well as a great fundraising effort, the event also drew more of the community to our wonderful new home.
The car wash was organised by senior players Nick Bolt and James England.
James said: “It was fantastic morning – the washers battled through adverse conditions to produce gleaming finishes. It was also good to engage with the wider community in Budleigh and surrounding areas, showing off the first class facilities that we have at The Holt.”
On Sunday several volunteers came up to The Holt to secure fencing, fill in holes and generally have a good tidy up in preparation for the 2024 season.
